JULY 4TH MUSIC CITY 10K/5K
With a three day concert lineup that culminates with the Nashville Symphony and fireworks on the riverfront, Nashville has one of the most exciting and patriotic Independence Day celebrations in the country. All ages and fitness levels will love running past landmarks like the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Ryman Auditorium, and Country Music Hall of Fame. Cap off your race with free Michelob Ultra at the I Run for the Party 4th of July block party.
The 2009 Fourth of July Music City 5K/10K presented IRFTP with the opportunity to bring thousands of participants in Nashville together with active duty military men and women in Afghanistan. The event was held as a satellite race in Nashville, TN and forward operating base Salerno, Afghanistan. Hundreds of American soldiers in the 101st Airborne headquartered in Ft. Campbell, KY joined the fun by organizing their own IRFTP event, uniting soldier and civilian. The experience was nothing short of inspiring for everyone involved and provided a way to raise funds and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a non-profit organization dedicated to the lives of our injured veterans.
In 2010, the Fourth of July Music City 10K/5K once again brought inspiration to soldier and civilian alike by partnering with the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment currently stationed at Camp Taji, Iraq. This Knoxville, TN based unit of men and women from all over the southeast ran a "shadow race" that duplicated the Nashville event at Camp Taji. The 2010 race will continue benefited WWP and brought US citizens together with military men and women. We proudly thank our troops for their service and hope that their participation in this event brought them a little closer to home.
We are excited to announce that this year in 2012, there WILL BE a satellite race in Kandahar, Afghanistan being run on July 4th in conjunction with our race here in Nashville, TN by active duty Military men and women. Special thanks to our partners from Fort Campbell's Task Force Thunder in Kandahar for working together with us in making this race happen!

The 208 Mile Blue Ridge Relay (BRR208), which is one of the longest running relay races in the United States, takes place in the picturesque Blue Ridge and Black Mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. The BRR208 consists of maximum 12 person (4 person minimum) teams that rotate through 36 transition areas as they cover the 208-mile distance of the race. Each relay team member runs 3 legs of varying lengths and difficulty and will cover an average total distance of ~16.6 miles. The runners rotate in a set order once the race begins and will be obligated to follow this rotation until the final runner finishes in Asheville, North Carolina!
The BRR208 starts at Grayson Highlands State Park, Grayson County, VA, which is near the base of Mount Rogers (5729'), the highest peak in Virginia. The course primarily follows scenic, country roads as it winds its way through North Carolina's High Country to the finish in Asheville. The course features some of the region's most spectacular scenery including the balds of Grayson Highlands State Park, the New River, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain (5964'), and Mount Mitchell (6684'), the highest peak east of the Mississippi River. | | Location: Blue Ridge Mountains of NC and VA | | Contact: info@blueridgerelay.com | | Event link: http://blueridgerelay.com/ | | Register: http://blueridgerelay.com/index.php?option=com_dtregister&task=category&Itemid=64 |

Brief Description
Part running - part trivia quiz - part skill challenges - 2 person teams - solve clues to find checkpoints - take team photos at checkpoints - use public transportation - call friends to help solve clues. The race where smarts can beat speed.
Additional Information
It's like a one-day Amazing Race. Get ready for the best challenge you ever took. Take the dare! We will begin check-in at 11:00 and will be taking registration up to the start of the race. Look for us in the light blue t-shirts. You must wear your Urban Dare shirts throughout the race, which we will give you at check-in. You should bring a cell phone and a digital camera to show your pictures at the end of the race. A cell phone camera will work. Maps are also handy and you should have someone to call to help look up clues. I also recommend a pen or pencil to take notes. Once you are out of the starting blocks, you will pick up your clue sheets and be on your way. You can call friends as much as you want for help on clues. For the checkpoints that mention a dare, you must check in with the Urban Dare official, accomplish your task, and get your passport stamped before moving on. On checkpoints that mention a photo, you must get a photo with both team members to show you were both there. This is a team race. You must be together throughout the race. You may walk, run or use public transportation to get to checkpoints. At checkpoints with dares, you must accomplish a task and get your passport stamped to move on to the next checkpoint. Dares range from throwing a bulls-eye, doing a climbing wall, completing a puzzle or eating something (things people like, not bugs). We expect the winners will finish the race in about 2 hours and most of you will finish under 4 hours. We are working to provide a fun-filled day for you, while providing some good challenges.

I Run For Angels!
Bridge to Bridge is more than a 4 mile run / 1 mile walk, it’s an opportunity for the Nashville community to come together to make Christmas brighter for children across the city who otherwise may wake up on Christmas morning without a gift.
I Run For the Party challenges you to Run For an Angel on December 15 by participating in the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, in addition to your registration fee.
By raising money, you are providing funding for much needed items such as school uniforms, shoes, clothing and even bed sheets- plus a Christmas wish; a toy for a child in need. Just like when you choose a child’s name from the Angel Trees at Nashville shopping malls, your monetary donation will serve to make Christmas brighter for children in our community.
Donate the money yourself or create a fundraising page and collect sponsorships. No matter how you contribute, you are proving Nashville can come together to make a difference.
Last year, the Salvation Army was able to serve over 13,000 angels in Nashville, This year, there is an expected number of over 18,000 angels registered to the Angel Tree Program. Learn more the program and the Salvation Army here (http://www.salarmy-nashville.org/)
About the Course:
Bridge to Bridge is a unique 4 mile race that takes runners through Hall of Fame Park and across all three of downtown’s bridges (Union Street, Shelby Pedestrian and Korean Veterans). In true I Run For the Party tradition, the course will be fun with plenty of holiday cheering. Get in the Christmas spirit with carolers, hot chocolate, costumed characters and maybe even a Santa sighing or two.
